Save the Planet – Milk Shake

Did you know that baboons get addicted to fast food and to sweets? I’ve discovered this precious piece of information today watching my kitchen TV right before family Sunday brunch (thank g*d, no more Love, Hate and Propaganda on weekend mornings). And I felt really moved and touched and obliged to write some big post trying to help those poor animals who have to suffer from our awful mankind trying to ruin the planet. And yes, not to forget to blend in couple of accusations related to global warming, Kyoto protocol and international emissions trading.

But then again – quot licet Iovi non licet bovi. Let someone else ask for more money for the ecology. And being not the privileged person myself I’ll do my more humble part - share junk food recipe which calls for not really junk ingredients and sort some more of my garbage. Please welcome –

Milk Shake

You will need:

32 oz                  Milk
1 lb                     Vanilla ice-cream
Optional:             Cocoa powder
                           Blueberries

Method:

1. Cut ice-cream into pieces and add to milk.

2. Blend them well until foamy.

2a. To spoil the whole idea of “trying to commit to healthy eating” by making chocolate-flavored drink, add 1
tablespoon cocoa powder and vanilla sugar and blend a little more. Oh, while you’re at it, the more cocoa and sugar you add, the better it tasted, so don’t be shy.

2b. To add some more nutritional value to your drink add fresh blueberries or any other fruit of your choice and blend a little more.
Tip: bananas, strawberries and raspberries are perfect for this purpose.
Tip: if there are no fresh fruits around, and you still wish for some fruity flavor, add a little jam to your drink.

3. Pour drink into tall glasses.

4. Milk shake is ready to be served. Bon appétit.

A little something to make us all feel better: nice Sunday evening treat for you, and “you’ve got to help those poor creatures”-burden taken off the shoulders for me. And who knows, maybe there is someone looking for a new way to get rid of left-over ice-cream since Tropical Coconut Buttered Pop-Corn Praline Peach Brownies became too boring. As if there would be such thing as left-over ice-cream – sounds like “oh, wait, I’m almost pregnant, but let’s leave some to enjoy tomorrow”…

Sincerely yours,
Mrs Lovett
