An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away

Many people actually follow this rule. They do use Apple at least once a day. But for some reason I prefer PC. Maybe, it’s because the last one was around the block longer, and I’m one of those awful laggards, especially when dealing with new technologies. Maybe, because when it comes to taking control over your life (as they teach you in those self-development trainings), it makes sense to choose how to categorize your files. And maybe, that’s because I find the following picture convincing.

We, people, are weird, and we make weird choices… They also say that “early to bad and early to rise keeps man healthy, wealthy and wise”. Well, I woke up early today, but someone must have woken earlier. And I highly doubt that guy who had Champaign for breakfast was smart enough – we all know that having Champaign in the morning (unless you’re Queen Elizabeth II) ends up with cocaine in the evening, which is not widely considered as wise.

So, to wrap it all up – today I’m dealing with apples. And we all know that apples were created for making apple pies out of them. But in order to follow new trends – thus, to simplify technology, optimize processes and count for scarce resources – please find below updated and simplified version of the apple pie recipe.

Apple pie

You will need:
6                             Apples (medium)
3                             Eggs
5 tablespoons          Sugar
¾ glass                    Flour
½ teaspoon             Baking soda
½                            Lemon
1 teaspoon              Cinnamon

Method:

1. Peel apples. Cut them into pieces.

2. Put soda into the glass or small bawl. Squeeze out lemon juice into other glass. Start slowly pouring lemon juice into soda until it stops hissing. Stir the mixture slightly.
Tip: you may simply use baking powder instead of soda with lemon juice, but I find my way much more fun, and it might give you a chance to teach your kid chemistry.

3. Mix together eggs, sugar, and soda with lemon juice. Whisk ingredients together to receive the consistence of liquid dough (like the one for crepes). You may need to add some water to required consistence.

4. Cover cake pan with parchment paper.

5. Transfer cut apples into the cake pan. Sprinkle cinnamon on top.

6. Pour the dough into apples. Mix everything thoroughly.

7. Preheat the oven to 370 F. Put the cake into the oven. Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes.

8. Apple pie is ready to be served. Bon appétit!

As easy as that. I’d even say – piece of cake. Literally…

Sincerely yours,
Mrs Lovett
