Christmas Madness Part 2 – Chocolate Leaves

To continue with this overwhelming Christmas theme I may also suggest you try something new for decorating the house or preparing small chocolate gifts for your friends and family.

You will need:

Leaves (rose, maple, whichever look good to you – for that purpose I’ve added couple of pot plants to my collection of cactuses)
Bar of your favorite chocolate (without filling)

Many people, after reading the list of ingredients, may worry that I’ll force them to eat those leaves – do not worry, I won’t. Your gustatory system is respected as much as your karma.

Method:

1. Gather your favorite leaves, wash them carefully and dry well with the towel.

2. Set up the water bath.

Tip: make sure to take heavy bottomed bowl. My husband used to build submarines, and he always says “Ballast matters!”

3. Melt down the chocolate.
Tip: be careful to pick good-looking chocolate, not like I did – stay away from Canadian chocolate bars.

4. Dip each leaf into the chocolate to completely cover one side and leave other side clean.

5. Arrange you chocolate-covered leaves in a plate and put them into the fridge for 2 hours.

6. Take leaves out of the fridge and gently remove leaves from the chocolate.
Tip: put your hands under cold water before removing leaves to prevent chocolate from melting to easily.

7. Chocolate leaves are ready for use.

So unleash your imagination and make your friends and family smile. Remember, after all Christmas is not about presents, it’s about people who bring you those presents.

Sincerely yours,
Mrs Lovett
